Scene 1
Int. In the living room where. Turtle is in front of the TV and Cat is causing a ruckus in the kitchen, eating a variety of canned goods.
Action: Cat jumps down from the counter and goes up to Turtle.
Cat
“Want some tuna?”
Turtle
“No cat, I’m okay.”
Action: Turtle jabs the stick at the TV.
Cut to:
Television where the nature channel is on; an octopus consumes a small fish.
Cat
“Whatever are you doing, Turtle? I don’t think a stick will hurt anyone.”
(quizzical expression on his face)
Action: Cat comes closer to turtle.
Turtle
“I am practicing.”
Action: Cat licks his paw.
Cat
“Why?”
Turtle
“I fear that I will encounter a squid one day.”
Action: Turtle jabs again, but now at Cat. Cat jumps.
Turtle
“See, I even happened to scare the likes of you.”
(proud)
Action: Cat has a puzzled look. He goes outside and roams around. He sniffs at the branch here and there. He climbs up the trees and the shed. Finally, he finds a sturdy branch near the pond and puts it in his mouth.
Cut to: Cat pretends to jab his stick on the television. This time the squid is eating a turtle.
Cat
“I too fear the sea creatures, especially if they can harm my friend. Will you teach me to fight, Turtle?”
Turtle
“Well, I’m not very good. But you bend your knees and jab.”
Cat
“Like this?”
Action: Cat jabs, then turtle, then cat jabs turtle playfully.
Turtle
“Oh, you are a natural, Cat!”

Scene 2
Int. Turtle is reading in his happy little paradise whilst Cat rummages in the kitchen
Turtle
“Cat, I cannot read with all this noise.”
(annoyed)
Action: Cat continues to throw things on the ground.
Turtle
“Cat!”
(angry)
Cat
“Alright, alright.”
Action: Cat goes sit next to turtle. He is bored. He licks his paw. He does a handstand. He performs a magic trick for Turtle. He plays chess by himself. Still, he is bored.
Cat
“Oh Turtle, you know I cannot fathom the boredom of my own thoughts. We must do something. We must go on an adventure!”
Turtle
“I’m quite alrigh-”
Action: Cat swoops up turtle and puts her on his back.
Cat
“Don’t worry, I know all the best spots around here.”
Action: Cat picks turtle up with his mouth. Turtle reaches for his book. Cat flushes the toilet. They’re both hypnotized by the flush. Turtle falls in. He is angry at Cat.
Action: Cat goes to the kitchen where he opens the fridge. It seems to glow as it opens. Cat looks as though he is in love. Cat munches on lettuce then gives Turtle some. Turtle looks as though she is in love. They lay out on the kitchen floor, full.
Action: Cat is trying to pull turtle outside. Turtle objects while clinging on to the door frame.
Cut to: Outside
Action: Cat and Turtle explore the outside cautiously. Turtle eats the grass. She holds on tightly as cat climbs up a tree. They dig up worms and both scamper off when the worm yells at them. And they swim in the pond.
Cat
“You complained so much today, Turtle.”
Action: Turtle splashes Cat and laughs
Cat
“But it seems as though you are finally enjoying yourself.”

Scene 3
Int. Cat and turtle sit side by side in front of the TV.
Cat:
“We should go to the Ocean.”
Turtle:
“Cat, you are sounding like your crazy aunt, Catty.”
Cat:
“Don’t you see, Turtle? The ocean is calling your name, it wants you to protect its waters. And adventure, well, adventure is calling my name, and it’s telling me to make haste.”
Action: Cat has huge eyes. He is excited. Turtle refuses. She shakes her head until there can be no more shaking, for she has worn herself out. Cat drags the dizzy Turtle outside.
Turtle:
“Why must I do this? Our home is cozy. You like your bed!”
Cat:
“You will thank me, Turtle. This is what friends are for. And don’t you worry. I have a map.”
Action: Cat points off into the direction of the sun with map in hand. He drags Turtle along.
Cut to: Note scribbled on table for their human.
Going to the ocean. Be back. Perhaps.

Scene 4
Ex. The wandering begins.
Cat and Turtle have just begun their journey.
First, they must board a train.
Action: Turtle in awe as they go underground. Cat reading a book and eating a sandwich.
Then, they must walk a long way through the mountains.
Action: They walk through the mountains and eat strange fruit. Cat throws up. They walk through a cave. The bats scare both Cat and Turtle. Cat and Turtle soon befriend the bats. The bat tells them that the water droplets are a good sign. They stick out their tongues trying to touch it. They fall asleep in the cave.
All the meanwhile, Cat… Well, Cat enjoys testing his strength. He wrestles with as many animals as he can.
Cut to: Montage of Cat wrestling with birds, racoons, hedgehogs (he needs to remove the spines), and with a bat, though the bat objects, informing cat that he can’t even see.
Cat and Turtle encounter many things on this trip. Like their first rain storm. They make a shelter out of fallen leaves, and huddle for warmth. And, they share a large beehive with their hungry bear friend.
Turtle tells Cat that they must go down this river, and soon they will arrive at their destination.
They make a boat out of twigs and rope. Cat uses his teeth and nails to carve it nicely.
Turtle:
“Cat, what will you do once we reach the ocean?”
Cat:
“Well, I’d like to eat some tuna.”
Turtle:
“Will you find Tuna in the ocean?”
Cat:
“Surely I will. What will you do, Turtle?”
Cut to: What a real life tuna looks like compared to cat
Action: Turtle ponders.
Turtle:
“Well. That’s easy.”
Action: Turtle hesitates.
Turtle:
“I will find my family. Once I do that, I will protect them until my last breath. It’s what I have always wanted to do.”
At last, the stream reaches its end. As they get off, they see the ocean in the distance.
Cat:
“One more adventure, Friend?”
Action: They find a boat and go swimming. Cat dives in bravely. He fails when it comes to catching Tuna, but finally, on his third attempt, he catches a fish. Though not tuna, he is satisfied with his fresh food. Turtle cheers him on. Soon, Turtle jumps into the water. He is nervous but is amazed at what he sees.
Turtle:
“This is so much more vibrant than the colors on the TV!”
Action: Bubbles rise up to the surface of the water. There is a blurred image of Cat in the reflection of the water.
They head back to shore. Find a half cart of eaten fries, and sit by the ocean, eating. The sun is setting.
Turtle:
“Well, Cat. I guess this is it.”
Cat:
“I suppose so. This has been fun.”
They turn to go their separate ways. Turtle reaches the ocean, but he feels as though he should not enter yet. He rushes back to Cat.
Turtle:
“Cat. Cat! Wait for me!”
Action: Turtle catches up to Cat.
Cat:
“Did you forget something, Turtle?”
Turtle:
“Why, I did, indeed.”
Action: Cat looks at turtle quizzically.
Turtle:
“I already have a family, and I quite like them. Let us go. Together, Cat.”
Action: Cat and Turtle vanish into the darkness, with Turtle on Cat’s back.

I’m got the greatest artist but this was really fun to make hehe. In my world, the cat is my partner, and I am the turtle. My partner has made my life so much more exciting; he’s my chosen family, and I wanted to share that in this post. Thanks for sticking to the end, if you do.
